Physical Therapy

Christine L.

We have been with OTG for 3 years now, and they have done wonders for both of our children. We have (or have had) them in speech, OT, PT and feeding therapy there.

Kaitlyn L.

We see multiple therapist here at Oceanside Therapy Group and absolutely love all of them. We see each discipline each week for two kids, so we've seen a lot of the therapists here. Everyone always remembers where my kids are at in their treatment and are beyond willing to accommodate anything I ask or for any extra appointments I feel they may benefit from.

Lauren S.

We were at Oceanside Therapy Group for about a year and a half, from Feb 2015 to June 206. My son went to physical therapy with Dr. Chris, occupational therapy with Ms. Sarah, and speech therapy and social speech group with Ms. Vanessa - so most of our week was spent up there. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this amazing place.

Nancy L.

My son became a patient in 2015 after having surgery to remove a brain tumor and then undergoing radiation & chemo. We are in our third year and the life my son leads now, is in part to the hard work, dedication and attention he has received at OTG.

Pediatric physical therapy focuses on helping children of all ages become as independent and fit as possible with respect to strength, endurance, balance, coordination and mobility. This includes in the home, community, school and playground.

Our pediatric physical therapists at Oceanside Therapy Group draw from years of expertise and a variety of approaches, focusing on enhancing your child’s development, restoring function and preventing disability from developmental or neurological conditions, illness or injury.

Pediatric therapy is also aimed at the prevention of injury by teaching proper use of the body during movement, as well as how to move safely and efficiently while at school or play. Our Oceanside, CA pediatric physical therapists often make recommendations regarding the use and fit of adaptive equipment as well as other accommodations to enhance proper positioning, skill acquisition or increased mobility in an effort to further promote functional independence.

Pediatric Physical Therapy

“Pediatric physical therapists (PTs) work with children and families to assist each child in reaching their maximum potential to function independently and to promote active participation in home, school, and community environments. Physical therapists use their expertise in movement and apply clinical reasoning through a process of examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and intervention. Pediatric physical therapy increases participation, facilitates motor development and function, improves strength and endurance, enhances learning opportunities, and eases challenges with daily caregiving. Families are supported through coordination of services that may include: Positioning during daily routines and activities, adapting toys for play, expanding mobility options, using equipment effectively, facilitating safety for the home and community, providing information on the child’s physical and health care needs, and smoothing transitions from early childhood to school and into adult life” (Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Fact Sheet, 2019).

Pediatric physical therapy can help your child develop to their fullest potential. Sessions with an Oceanside physical therapist at our facility are safe, friendly and encouraging. Contact Oceanside Therapy Group to schedule an evaluation at Oceanside, CA or begin therapy for your child on the autism spectrum.
