PT, DPT
Annie grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, California. She first became interested physical therapy after suffering an ACL injury while playing soccer. She graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Professions, with the intention of becoming a physical therapist.
Annie attended graduate school at San Diego State University where she earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. While studying for her DPT, she helped conduct a study researching the benefits of weighting bearing for patients with incomplete spinal cord injuries using an Ekso Bionic exoskeleton suit. Annie and the other members of the research group presented their poster “Twelve Weeks of Overground Bionic Ambulation with FES in Individuals with SCI: A Case Series” at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting in Denver 2020. They won 1st place poster in the Technology Special Interest Group.
Annie comes to OTG with experience in a variety of settings including pediatrics, outpatient ortho, inpatient hospital, outpatient neuro, and skilled nursing. She found her passion for pediatrics while at SDSU. Annie has experience with all ages and various diagnoses including general gross motor delay, congenital muscular torticollis, idiopathic toe-walking, orthopedic injuries, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, and much more. She loves pediatrics because it challenges her creativity and knowledge, and believes in creating individualized treatment plans with patients and their families. Nothing is more rewarding to Annie than helping her patients improve their independence and achieve their goals.
Outside of work, Annie enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and golden retriever. She loves staying active, art, reading, being outdoors, eating, and traveling.
