Physical Therapy Department Manager, DPT and Marketing Director
Chris grew up throughout southern California in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. He attended USC where he earned both his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 1997 and later his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2002. Chris spent the first decade of his PT career providing home-based pediatric care throughout Orange County. He was also fortunate to intern at Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital of Long Beach in their outpatient rehabilitative care center.
Chris joined Oceanside Therapy Group in 2012 and was instrumental in starting the physical therapy (PT) program. He has since served as its department manager and helped cultivate and grow the dynamic PT team we have today. He has years of experience treating children and infants of all ages with complex, neurological diagnoses as well as orthopedic conditions. Most recently, Chris completed the following courses to aide in his clinical practice: Car Seat Assessment and Safety for children with special needs, Myofascial Release for Children and Adolescents, Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) introductory seminar, Power Wheelchair Assessment: Mobility and Training, Wheelchair Seating, and Assistive Technology in the School Setting, as well as multiple courses in the treatment of idiopathic toe walking.
Chris is driven to provide every child and family he treats with respect and support on their therapy journey. He believes that access and advocacy are key to helping our kids reach their goals. Chris helps to empower parents and caregivers by investing his time and energy into lessening potential barriers to treatment so that the children he sees have the best chance at success. Chris is also fluent in Spanish.
In addition to his role as a PT, Chris also serves as our Marketing Manager. He enjoys making connections between OTG and local businesses and medical professionals to widen our network and provide greater resources for all our families. When he isn’t working, you can find Chris trying out a new recipe, exploring new places to hike or attempting to learn a new language (although Wookie isn’t widely known around here). He also loves spending time with his high school sweetheart and wife, Casey, and their daughter, Avery.
