Emma

OTD, OTR/L

I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2019, and graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in April 2023! My clinical rotations were in adult acute inpatient and SNF, so I have experience working with a variety of diagnoses and working quickly on my feet! However, I have always had a passion for working with kids! I have observed multiple outpatient pediatric clinics, and I am so excited to support the kiddos of OTG. I chose to pursue a career in occupational therapy because I want to help people live fulfilling lives, no matter what cards they have been dealt. My empathy and compassion allow me to connect with my patients and their families and help me to provide client centered care that is unique to each individual. I love working with children because I am constantly inspired by their creativity, imagination, and optimism, no matter what challenges they may experience.

I joined the OTG team in 2023! My goal for this year is to learn as much as I can from my coworkers, continue to build my skills as a therapist, and to create positive connections with my clients. I would like to learn more about feeding and swallowing, sensory integration techniques, and pediatric sensory regulation techniques.

I grew up in Santa Clarita, which is a small suburb in LA County. My parents still live there so I get to visit them often! I have two siblings, an older sister and a younger brother, who I am very close with! They both live in Los Angeles, but I get to see them often too. I currently live with my two childhood best friends, which has been so much fun. I love being active, whether it is going to the gym, going on a hike, or walking on the beach! I also like to paddleboard and swim and have recently been playing tennis. I also am a big coffee and food lover so I love to find new places to try in San Diego! A fun fact about me is that I studied abroad in Florence, Italy when I was in college and was able to visit 13 countries! Italy was my favorite and I can’t wait to go back.

I am so excited to join the team at OTG!
