Katy was born and raised in Grosse Ile, MI, a little island in the Detroit River. She graduated from Western Michigan University with her Bachelors of Science and Minor in Psychology in 2009 and Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2010. Katy’s fieldwork experience included adults and pediatric populations in a variety of different inpatient, outpatient and home settings. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2011 starting her Occupational Therapy career working with primarily the adult neurological and orthopedic populations. However, through her clinical’s and work experience has always kept an excitement and passion for working with children and their families. In order to pursue her career in pediatrics and personal goals she relocated to Oceanside, CA in 2019 and joined OTG!
Katy serves as the Occupational Therapy Department Assistant Manager. Katy has completed continuing education courses including Your Feeding Toolkit (Talk Tools), FeedThePeds, Sensory-Based Strategies, Techniques and Equipment for Children with ASD, SPD and ADHD, Best Practices in Pediatric Feeding, Motor Speech, and Mouth Development, The Exceptional Child: Empowered! Global Online Conference and has served as Fieldwork Level II Clinical Instructor for many future OT practitioners.
She loves working with children and their families to establish meaningful goals through an integrative assessment, facilitate the development and support infants through adolescents addressing their oral motor and feeding needs, teach sensory integration strategies and provide the best quality care in order facilitate others live their best lives. Outside of work Katy enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, friends, outdoor activities hiking and relaxing or playing games at the beach, volleyball, paddle boarding and kayaking, playing pickleball, watching sports, playing board games, traveling, dining out and shopping.
