Nicole

MOT, OTR/L

Nicole is originally from New York and grew up on Long Island. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Salisbury University in 2018. Nicole continued on to receive her Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2022 from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences located in San Marcos, California. Upon graduation, Nicole received the Judith Olson Scholastic Achievement Award, indicating the highest GPA of her graduating MOT class. She is also a member of the Pi Theta Epsilon national occupational therapy honor society which promotes and recognizes academic and scholarship and excellence. Her fieldwork experience included a school-based setting in an elementary school location as well as adult in-patient rehabilitation. Although Nicole enjoyed both settings, her true passion in occupational therapy is working with children and families. She began her career at OTG early in 2023.

As a recent graduate, Nicole is eager to bring forth the knowledge gained from her Master's degree and fieldwork experiences. Her experience with a wide variety of diagnoses during her school-based fieldwork has given her a deep understanding of the pediatric population and their needs. She values the importance of using play to establish the skills required to elicit developmental milestones and enhance independence. Nicole plans to take continuing education courses in the areas of feeding, motor speech, and sensory integration to further her expertise.

Nicole loves being a part of a team that works together to help a child achieve goals and promote growth. She finds it rewarding when her clients show progress and improvement, especially when the child also recognizes their accomplishments and feels proud for overcoming a challenge. Her treatment approach is a combination of being silly and creative while also focusing on safety and the client's personal interests and goals.

When Nicole is out of the office, she spends most of her time at the beach or finding new trails to explore around the San Diego area. She also loves to snowboard during the winter months and enjoys spending time in the mountains. Nicole's other hobbies include playing volleyball with friends, painting, and baking!
